The actual funding requirements and applicable costs are broken into 3 parts.
Many communities find that they have a friendly electrician that is happy to install a CPAD in the community without charge. Where chargeable, the cost can range from £100 upwards depending on the distance from the fixing point to the nearest power supply.
We are delighted with the success of the project, now having hundreds of Public Access Defibrillators installed around the country.
However, installing them is only the start. The cost of replacement pads and batteries have to be funded as required in order to keep them rescue ready. The pads last for 2 years (unless actually used) and cost an average of £75 to replace. The batteries last for 4 years and cost £345 to replace.
There is nothing magical about this. If the consumables are not funded by the local community they will be shown as unavailable until funds are raised. In situations where they have been unavailable for 3 months or more they may be relocated to another community which is able to fund them.

Any individual, group or company that fully funds a new CPAD will be acknowledge and in the event that a life is saved by that defibrillator a Lifesavers Award will be presented to the funding party.

Legacies
