Once the CPADs are installed and registered with The Circuit, every CPAD is checked on a regular basis to ensure that they are always rescue ready. This is carried out by a team of volunteer Defibrillator Guardians who check that the electrode pads are in date, the batteries have sufficient charge, and that locks and hinges etc work efficiently.
The Guardians also check each CPAD following notice of having been deployed to ensure they are still rescue ready and cleaned. A large part of the Guardians responsibilities is submitting reports and updates to The Circuit.
Most of the Defibrillator Guardians do not only keep the CPADs rescue ready, but are often involved in local fundraising and assisting each other where required.
